Clear vision is needed to objectively assess the world around us in a time of ‘fake’ news, photo-shopped images, and altered videos.  And you will get clear vision as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Long Island showcases realist painters from as near as Huntington, NY and as far as Korea in its aptly named exhibition Clear Vision. Clear Vision will be on display in Patchogue from September 12 through October 25. Clear Vision presents a variety of artists working in contemporary realism.  Included in the exhibition will be trompe l’oeil painters whose works ‘fool one’s eye’ by eliminating any evidence of brushstroke and others whose paintings upon close examination become something quite.  Some artists create images of whimsy, others use traditional symbolism and still, others are simply present matters of fact. The range of subject in Clear Vision ranges from architecture, landscape, and the natural world to still life both traditional and ironic, and people posed and in action.

 Artists exhibiting in Clear Vision
Alexandra Averbach, Shain Bard, Richard Combes, Jane Hartley, Robert Jackson, Young-Sung Kim, Leslie Parke, Melodie Provenzano, Sharon Sprung, Courtney Young, and Eric Zener.

Clear Vision will be on display at MoCA LI (Museum of Contemporary Art, Long Island) 20 Terry St. Patchogue, NY from September 12 through October 25.  An artist’s reception is scheduled for September 12 at 5:00 pm (tentative). An artist and curator talk is scheduled for Sept 25.

2020 Clear Vision Festival Season
In a time when it is becoming nearly impossible to distinguish between fact and fiction, where journalists are accused of reporting fake news and where we are bombarded with misinformation, it is obvious what we need is; Clear Vision. PACs festival season will include outdoor events, a thematic mural, sculpture garden, virtual programming, exhibitions, and the MoCA Lights event.
This series of exhibitions each explores variations of Vision: clarity, veracity, integrity, ambiguity, and ingenuity. Exhibits will include artists working in various mediums including painting, drawing, installation, sculpture, video, photography, new forms, and performance.
