Building a Legacy: The Future of the Patchogue Arts Council & MoCA L.I.
The Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) and the Museum of Contemporary Art Long Island (MoCA L.I.) are proud to announce the most significant milestone in our 16-year history: the creation of a new cultural arts center and museum at 312 E Main Street in Patchogue. This exciting new chapter, made possible in partnership with the Town of Brookhaven, will feature state-of-the-art facilities on nearly an acre of land, offering expanded space for educational programs, performances, and exhibitions.
The economic impact of arts is not merely a matter of cultural enrichment, but a powerful driver of community development and economic vitality. This transformative project will elevate our capacity to serve as an innovative, educational, and community-driven arts institution—forever shaping the cultural landscape of Long Island. By creating this new cultural arts center, the Patchogue Arts Council and Museum of Contemporary Art Long Island are not just expanding their physical space, but continuing to build upon Patchogue’s proven strategy of using arts as a catalyst for economic and community renewal.
Since our founding in 2008, PAC has been dedicated to strengthening the cultural fabric of Long Island, supporting local artists, and revitalizing Patchogue Village. Through our work, we have steadily expanded access to the arts, built meaningful partnerships, and fostered creative engagement. Each year, PAC has grown its reach, enhanced opportunities for artists, and connected with new audiences in ways that have garnered recognition and acclaim.

Key Achievements
Community Partnerships: PAC collaborates with an average of 25+ organizations arts and non-arts per year to bring innovative programs to Long Island, such as exploring art therapy with SEPA Mujer and their Thriving Latinas program, supported by the Department of Justice.
Public Art Leadership: As a Public Art Consultant for Patchogue Village, we have championed the integration of art into the public space, enriching the community.
Exhibition Expansion: With initiatives like the Satellite Exhibitions across Downtown Patchogue, we’ve made art accessible to new audiences and artists alike.
Educational Impact: In 2022, we launched *Partners in Education, Arts, and Community Empowerment*, a large-scale program fully funded by the U.S. Department of Education. PAC was one of only 27 organizations nationwide selected for this grant, underlining the depth and impact of our educational efforts.
Despite our growth, we have always faced space and staffing limitations. Yet, thanks to the commitment of our community and partners, PAC has continued to flourish. Now, with this new cultural center, we are ready to move beyond these constraints and realize even greater possibilities for our arts programs, education, and community engagement.
Your Support Makes a Difference
To bring this vision to life, we are seeking to raise $12 million to fund the construction of our new educational and performance spaces, support staffing and operations at both facilities, and establish an endowment that will ensure the long-term sustainability of PAC and MoCA L.I. This investment will provide stable funding for our future operations, programming, and maintenance needs.
With your generous support, we can ensure that PAC and MoCA L.I. continue to serve as a cultural cornerstone for Long Island. Together, we will cultivate a vibrant arts space that benefits artists, educators, and the entire community for generations to come.
