The Great Smartphone PAC-tography Challenge

Unfortunately, our next CHALLENGE scheduled for Sunday, October 1st, 2023 has been CANCELED. See you in the Spring!

Let’s first start with some FAQ’s about The Great Smartphone PAC-tography Challenge:

What’s the Great Smartphone PAC-tography Challenge?

Well, it is a FOUR hour Smartphone ONLY photo challenge.

When does it take place?

The next Challenge will be held in the Spring of 2024.

Where does it take place?

Yes, we know it sounds crazy, but YOU and YOUR TEAM pick the spot! Wanna meet at a coffee shop? Grocery store? Your living room? Downtown? An amusement park? You pick where YOU feel you’ll most succeed at the challenge and go from there.

How many people can I have in my team?

Teams consist of 2-6 people.

How old do you have to be to participate?

Own a Smartphone? Then you can be a participant! There is no age requirement or limit for The Great Smartphone PAC-tography Challenge.

Do we have to stay at the meeting spot the whole four hours?

No, you can travel as near or as far as you’d like during those four hours, but you MUST travel together as a team.

Why is it only FOUR hours?

Because, well, that’s what makes it a challenge!

Why are ONLY Smartphone Cameras allowed?

We don’t want any participant to have an unfair advantage over another. While a seasoned photographer might capture better images with their DSLR camera, this challenge is for everyone- beginners to advanced levels. As well, those photographers who shoot with Film cameras will not have enough time to develop the images in four hours. Therefore, in order to make it fair across the board and to be able to allow ANYONE to take part in the challenge, we are only accepting smartphone images for this challenge.

What if I don’t take great pictures with my Smartphone?

PAC Photographers Group will be providing resources in order to help you snap some amazing pictures. PACPG will also be available for any questions during the Challenge.
Email us at: pacphotogroup@gmail.com.

What does the The Great Smartphone PAC-tography Challenge entail?

Your team will meet on the event date at 2:00pm at the location of your choice.
At 2:15pm, a link will go LIVE with the rules and themes. The challenge will consist of eight images, each under a chosen theme.
By 6:15pm, you must submit ALL of your images via a submission form that will be posted the day of the challenge. During those four hours, you must photograph, edit (if you choose), title, and submit all of your team’s work.
Your team will also have to create a team name as well as a name for each of the submitted images. The goal is to have eight cohesive photos that work together- just as though you were exhibiting them in a show.

If I registered, how do I receive the link for the Challenge?

At 2:15pm on the day of the event, a link will go live on this page. Check back here at that time to access it above. Also, 24 hours prior to the Challenge, your team captain will receive an email with how to access the link.

How do I register for the Great Smart Phone PAC-tography Challenge?

Registration will be HERE when registration opens.

Any questions, please contact us at: pacphotogroup@gmail.com.
