🎬 Join us for PAC’s P.E.A.C.E Project's first-ever Film Festival on September 26 at the Patchogue Theatre! Experience 5 powerful short films created by talented high school students, artists, and educators. If you've ever been curious about what the P.E.A.C.E Project does, now is your chance to view it and understand the magic our students, teachers, & teaching artists have created during a year-long journey together.

This event is hosted in partnership with the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, with support from the US Department of Education.

OUT OF THE DARKNESS (11:11)
* Students from Hampton Bays High School, guided by Alexa Toyas and teaching artists Kimberly Zambrano and Miroslava Gonzalez, create a documentary exploring resilience and overcoming challenges within their community.

KINETIC CANVAS (10:27)
* Islip High School students, led by Michael Hershkowitz and cultural partners Paolo Bartolani & Alina Wilczynski, collaborate to blend music, light, color, and movement in a unique artistic interpretation.

WHAT IS HOME? (3:30)
* Center Moriches High School students, under the guidance of Bonnie Bredes and teaching artist Holly Hunt, use photography and multimedia to explore the diverse meanings of "home."

STORYTELLING THROUGH FILM (13:18)
* Brentwood High School students, mentored by Betsy Kennedy and teaching artist Catherine Oberg, craft and share their personal stories through narrative cinema.

STAND TALL (Special Education Documentary)
* Created through the Eastern Suffolk BOCES PEACE Grant, this documentary highlights the strength and unique perspectives of special education students, showcasing their determination and voices.

As the new school year begins, we reflect on the amazing memories from our 2023-2024 PAC P.E.A.C.E Project end-of-year celebration! 🎉✨ With support from local officials, we gathered to honor the incredible work of our teachers, administrators and teaching artists on their P.E.A.C.E journey. This project empowers youth to express their stories through art, amplifying the voices of underrepresented students.

We're thrilled to begin PAC’s 3rd year of this transformative program and can't wait to welcome our 2024-2025 cohort for another year of creativity and impact!

The P.E.A.C.E Project is a 5-year initiative supported entirely by federal funds through a competitive grant from the U.S. Department of Education. PAC is proud to continue the work and research developed with prior USDOE funding through Eastern Suffolk BOCES.

Pssst! 😉 We are 12 days from Arts on Terry (AOT) 2024 and were eager to see all our friends and meet some new ones at our annual contemporary art fair for all ages held right in front of PAC•MoCA September 22th from 1-5pm!

Arts on Terry (AOT) is an annual contemporary art fair for all ages held on Terry Street, Patchogue’s official arts district. The fair highlights 300+ artists with 35+ solo artist booths, 20+ live-painters, 17+ organizations ( museums & organizations), and 17+ street artists as well as a full day of demonstrations, family-friendly activities, live music, poetry, and other performances.

Performance Happenings 3️⃣🎭
Sunday, September 8 from 12:00 – 5:00 PM Performance art contains a variety of artist’s activities stimulating the audience visually and through sound. Most often the artist incorporates their physical body. Performance art may be ephemeral or lead to a created object. During On the Spot five artists will perform a variety works in five locations at half hour intervals in the downtown Village of Patchogue. Artists included in On the Spot are: Isabella Fernanda, Steve Finkelstein, Wendi Weng Krasowitz and guests, Mike Nowotarski, and Ria Rajan.

Our Performance Art Film screenings this afternoon at Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center was so fun and educational! We took a journey understanding the art form which started back in the early 20th century watching archival footage, mini documentaries and contemporary performances!
