MoCA L.I.ghts VI
LED: Light Evoking Dreams – 100 Years of Surrealism
MoCA L.I.ghts VI will transform the Village of Patchogue into a luminous dreamscape—where time bends, objects breathe, and the imagination reigns.
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Surrealism, we invite artists working in digital media, video, and projection art to submit works inspired by dreams, the unconscious, and the surreal.MoCA L.I.ghts is seeking works that awaken the irrational, embrace the uncanny, and drift freely through dream logic. Inspired by the legacy of artists like Dalí, Carrington, and Magritte, as well as contemporary visionaries such as Julie Curtiss, Nathaniel Mary Quinn, and Inka Essenhigh, we will light up the night with moving, morphing visions that slip between waking life and the dream world.
In collaboration with the Patchogue Theatre of Performing Arts, a rotating series of artist-created videos, gifs, animation, and/or digitally created still works by artists will be presented on the marquee of the Patchogue Theatre. Artists are invited to submit site-specific works to be displayed on the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts digital marquee. Works need to meet specific specs to be considered, please review the guidelines carefully.

This exhibition will run on the marquee from October – December 2025, and will be included in all MoCA L.I.ghts® events taking place October 23 – 28, 2025. Exact run times TBA
ART ON THE MARQUEE® is part of the Patchogue Arts Council MoCA L.I.ghts 2025 program.
As the days get shorter and darker the Village of Patchogue will begin to glow again as the Patchogue Arts Council presents MOCA L.I.ghts 2025. A series of compelling, site-specific artist-designed works that include projection, video, animation, and gifs. Works will be exhibited in multiple locations throughout the downtown from October – December 2025 transforming the Village into an immersive open-air museum. MoCA L.I.ghts® is a free program open to the community at large.

LED: Luz que evoca sueños – 100 años de surrealismo
MoCA L.I.ghts VI transformará la localidad de Patchogue en un luminoso paisaje de los sueños, donde el tiempo se desvía, los objetos respiran y la imaginación reina.
Para celebrar el centenario del surrealismo, invitamos a artistas que trabajan en medios digitales, video y proyección a presentar obras inspiradas en los sueños, el inconsciente y lo surrealista.
MoCA L.I.ghts busca obras que despierten lo irracional, abracen lo siniestro y se dejen llevar libremente por la lógica de los sueños. Inspirados por el legado de artistas como Dalí, Carrington y Magritte, así como por visionarios contemporáneos como Julie Curtiss, Nathaniel Mary Quinn e Inka Essenhigh, iluminaremos la noche con visiones conmovedoras y cambiantes que se deslizan entre la vigilia y el mundo de los sueños.
