Call for Dystopia at Toast Exhibition

PATCHOGUE ARTS COUNCIL PRESENTS

Call for Dystopia at Toast Exhibition

October 21 – November 21, 2017

The Patchogue Arts Council is pleased to announce that it is accepting submissions from artists for its satellite exhibition at Toast Coffeehouse in Patchogue, NY. The exhibition, Dystopia, will be on view at Toast Coffeehouse from October 21 – November 21, 2017. The Patchogue Arts Council will be hosting its inaugural Founders Gala on October 26 at Toast Coffeehouse in Patchogue with an initial reception at the Patchogue Arts Gallery.

The theme of the exhibition is dystopia and artists whose work revolves around this subject matter will be given preference. The theme of the Founders Gala is based on Metropolis, Fritz Lang’s 1927 epic German Expressionist sci-fi film drama. The Founders Gala is also based on the Cubism, Futurism and Bauhaus art movements. The Visual Arts Committee will review all submissions. Proposals should keep in mind that the reception will take place within the gallery space among the work. This opportunity will provide the chosen artist(s) with a great deal of exposure. There is no fee to submit, but please note there will be a 50/50 split on any sales of work during the exhibition with 50% of the proceeds will go to benefit the programming of the Patchogue Arts Council.
