Slide Slam Application

PAC’s Slide Slam Series is back with some exciting changes.

Slide Slam on Cam; Share Your Vision & Song Slam on Cam; Beyond the Music

Virtual screenings of professionally produced fast-paced talks with visual artists & musicians shared through over a dozen galleries, museums, and art organizations across Long Island.

Past versions of this program have been a successful catalyst to help unify LI’s creative clusters by creating bridges of opportunity for artists through collaboration with other organizations, program directors, performance bookers, curators, collectors, arts professionals, arts venues, & collectives. Promoting connectivity, networking for new opportunities, and strengthening the collective artist presence on L.I.

CALL FOR VISUAL ARTISTS & MUSICIANS

Slide Slam on Cam; Share Your Vision

This program begins with the opportunity for any visual artist to submit their work for consideration through an open call, digital submission process. This is a fee-free application & is open to artists living and working on Long Island.

The application will require 5-7 images, artist statement, artist bio, artist resume and social media information. See submission details below.

Song Slam on Cam; Beyond The Music

Song Slam invites musicians, song writers, and sound engineers to submit 3-5 songs with a short statement about each work, artist/group bio, artist/group resume and up to 5 samples of art used for their albums. Selected artists will have 10 minutes to talk about the technical, inspirational, lyrical, compositional, and instrumental techniques they use.

What happens once artists are selected?

PAC will be working with a local production company to safely and professionally record these sessions in a studio setting.

Selected visual artists will have 10 minutes and one take to introduce, discuss, and present images of their work. Selected artists will be responsible to create a power point presentation of their works previous to the session. Details and deadlines will be emailed to selected artists.

Selected musicians, songwriters, and sound engineers will have 10 minutes to talk about the technical, inspirational, lyrical, compositional, and instrumental techniques they use. Selected musicians will be responsible to provide recordings and materials to be integrated into the presentation previous to the session. Details and deadlines will be emailed to selected musicians.

In place of physical events, the professional production of these artist sessions will be shared across numerous social media outlets and archived on PAC’s website and Your Tube channel.

Virtual viewing events will be hosted in collaboration with galleries, museums, and arts organizations across Long Island. A virtual audience will be filled with art and music professionals (curators, gallerists, artists seeking collaborators, arts writers & editors, art collectors, art dealers, museum professionals, and talent bookers) along with general audience members & anyone interested in viewing the talks. Selected artists will be asked to commit to sharing all presentations when confirming participation, maximizing the exposure for all!

Virtual event dates and collaborators will be announced.

This program is made possible with funding from Suffolk County.

NEED HELP CREATING AN ARTIST STATEMENT, BIO, AND/OR RESUME?

We have your back…
If you are interested in applying but need to refresh or create an artist bio, artist statement, or artist resume we have created a virtual series of PAChats (Professional Artist Chats) that can walk you through creating these necessary artist materials that are often required in applications.
