Inspired Journeys

In my artwork, I seek to reveal the intricate beauty and vibrant energy discovered through my travels and immersion in nature. Each piece celebrates diverse landscapes and it’s often-overlooked details— the dramatic palette of withering petals, the rugged texture of lichen-covered rocks, or the enchanting variety of leaf shapes on a hike. I invite viewers to pause, observe, and explore these captured moments, encouraging a renewed appreciation for the simple joys in our everyday surroundings. 

I focus on the importance of creative process and experimentation in both my teaching and personal artistic practice. Encouraging my students to embrace and enjoy the deeply personal act of artmaking, I strive to foster an environment where play and individual expression are celebrated. Replicating that philosophy in my own work, I engage in spirited exploration across various mediums. Breaking the stark white of a new canvas with written intentions, meditations or spontaneous lines, I build upon these initial marks with layers of acrylic washes, inks, and texture. Incorporating transfers of original photographs, acrylic skins, or bits of collage, my compositions draw inspiration from recent hikes, travel experiences, sacred geometry and elements of nature as well as messages collected from teabag fortunes.
