The artist uses apps on an iPad to create the digital images and then prints with Epson UltraChrome K3™ ink on Hannemuhle digital print paper. Barbara states that she combines effects that are created with apps such as Matter, Paper 53, Pixelmator and Pixlr-o-matic in a similar way that a musician uses a mixing board. She considers herself an “apps choreographer.”
Barbara has a long and varied history as a fine artist and gallerist. Her works have been on view in a one woman project curated by Cindy Sherman at Artists Space in NYC, at The Jock Truman Gallery, Drew University, Lehigh University, Diane Jacobowitz Dances, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, PS 122, and The Brixton Gallery in London.
Her paintings, Angry Houses, are a part of NYC’s art collection in the Department of Juvenile Justice. Additional pieces have been exhibited in the Biennial Fire Island Pines Art Show.
