The Patchogue Arts Council is proud to present “Latina: Paintings by Segundo Orellana” from March 9 – April 21 on view at the Lobby Arts Gallery and Galleria located inside the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. Artist Segundo Orellana, presents a variety of images of the feminine, from the mythic to the contemporary, portraying Latin American women in their strengths and struggles.

Orellana describes his inspiration for the exhibition Latina in two languages. “Esta exhibición es un homenaje y celebración a las mujeres latinas, quienes crean desde nuestra fuerza ancestral resilientes y amorosas. Hijas de la madre tierra nuestra Pachamama. This show is to pay homage and celebrate Latina women, who create with our ancestral force through resilience and love. Daughter of Mother Earth our Pachamama.”
For his 2019 painting, Ancestral Meditation, Orellana writes “Yesterday I learned that the universe has many colors, many of them can only be seen through the eyes of the soul. Ayer Aprendí que el universo tiene muchos colores, muchos de ellos solo los puedes ver con los ojos del alma Meditación Ancestral.“
