Follow the journey as these projects unfold and keep an eye out for calls for participation, community engagement workshops, exhibits and other related events the artists will be sharing with the community. We are so grateful to Governor Kathy Hochul who recently announced nearly $45 million in grant awards through the New York State Council on the Arts. Through a record level of state funding for the arts, these grants will support over 1,200 arts organizations and 426 artists as they return to pre-pandemic levels of capacity and creation.”For hundreds of years, artists from around the world have called New York their home because of our culture, diversity, and creativity,” Governor Hochul said. “Their innovations fuel our economy, our tourism industry and the health and well-being of our communities, and this year’s historic commitment will spur our continuing recovery from the pandemic and set the course for a stronger future.” |

The Support for Artists grants will provide $4,260,000 to 426 artists across NY. PAC will be helping 4 of 13 artists awarded this grant from Long Island! “The Patchogue Arts Council’s service and leadership in the arts on Long Island made it possible to be in the position to support artists in their applications and provide professional project support to continue advancing contemporary artists on L.I. We have so many artists that are living and working here, contributing to the arts community and to be able to support them, give them visibility, a platform for their work and see them fiscally supported is why we continue to advocate and create opportunity. It’s an honor we will be able to help 4 of the 13 artists who were awarded this grant on L.I.” said Beth Giacummo, Patchogue Arts Council • MoCA L.I. Executive Director. “The Patchogue Arts Council was created 15 years ago with the mission of bringing contemporary art to an underserved community. The artists and their projects awarded this NYSCA grant will help bridge the divide between the local community and contemporary practices in art.” said John Cino, Patchogue Arts Council • MoCA L.I. Program Director / Curator. |
