Jack Pierce is a painter with a strong background in graphic design. Raised and educated on Long Island with an acute awareness of the rich tradition of painting in the region. Pierce received a BA from York College of PA (’94) where he studied traditional and digital art making. He practiced his craft as a digital designer while continuing to explore a variety of creative outlets, also receiving an MA from Long Island University (’03) where he studied painting under Paul Pagk.
Mr. Pierce has participated in many group shows and has had several solo exhibitions of his fine art. His designs have appeared on national brands and in globally distributed publications. In 2010 Jack Piece’s art was selected by the Town of Huntington to adorn public banners as part of an urban revitalization project. Mr. Pierce continues to practice art and design, he owns/operates an incorporated design studio as well as teaches at the collegiate level.
“The art I produce is a synthesis of graphic formalism and expressionist sensation, in content and style. The subject matter regardless of imagery is art itself. Purposefully ordered elements juxtapose. The physical presence of the art as object is always addressed, as is the human process of art making in the age of reproduction.” -Jack Pierce
