JoAnne Dumas has an affinity with nature and particularly its flowing patterns. Her work is photography based but often pushes boundaries by using none traditional techniques that mimic the motion of water, plants and those patterns left behind and frozen in time.
Her artwork has been displayed in numerous solo and group exhibitions as well as in private collections and corporate settings. She has taught art and digital media at secondary and college levels, run workshops and presentations for art teachers through NYSATA and received artist grants from NYFA.
JoAnne is a native of New York City who lives and works on Long Island. In New York City she studied at Parsons, the School of Visual Arts, International Center of Photography and received her BFA with honors and MPS from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
